The number of places available for graduate or post-graduate students is very
limited. Each individual department at the university can accept students. They each have their own economic guidelines and goals regarding graduate and post-graduate studies. Therefore you need to contact the department in which you are
interested, to find out if it is worth while sending them your application. In the
enclosed list you find the addresses of some departments at SLU. In your contact
you should give a short description of your previous education, work experience and future study or research plans. If the department does accept you for a research study programme, you should not count on getting any scholarship aid or being employed as a teacher or assistant whilst here. Therefore you must have settled your financial situation before sending your application. The universities in Sweden do not charge for tuition, but living costs in Sweden are around 7.000 SEK per month for student standard.

Masters’ programmes usually consist of one term of studies and one term masters’
thesis. They require a minimum of three years of previous studies and knowledge of English language equivalent to a TOEFL-score of 550.

Research study programmes leading to a doctorate normally include a minimum of
four years of study after your undergraduate degree, and consist of seminars,
prescribed reading and independent research work. All post-graduate students are
individually supervised.

There is no particular time period during which applications must be submitted.
