  1. ooops i am also studying in china and more of it i am studying in chinese, not like my fren who is studying in english.so i think i know more about nature and tradition of chinese university. i don't excatly know what happened over there and that army personnal beat our foreign fren..... but in my 4 year experience in china says that "If you don't make mistake you are always out of trouble" . Students attitude towards universities has a great value in chinese universities. for example in my university they love nepali students as here they think we are most hardworking and obedient students. and i doubt any nepali ever had any big problem (like that )here (nepalese have been coming here since mid 70s). One of the most important thing in chinese schools and universities is that "Teachers have lots of power and they deserve and expect to be respected" They can even expell you from university. its not like in nepal that student union can even lock up VC's office. Yeah chinese are very strict about collecting fees. Lots of student esp koreans and japanese come here to enjoy there vacation and student visa is the cheapest and easiest one. they get visa and don't pay tution fee.So for last two years every university in china has been taking this thing very seriously. Failing in 5 subjects and not giving the diploma , there is this rule in china. If a chinese student fails in 5 sub during his course he is not given the diploma. Before this was only for chinese students but now university have decided that foreigners must also abid by this rule. Its same everywhere. They have that rule in my university also. Its not that hard to pass here. You go to classes regularly and just live a life of student you won't fail in more than 2-3 sub in your entire student life. Yeah hostel fees are expensive i agree that and they hardly let student stay outside. I don't know the reason but when ever someone asks they just say security!!!There were some foreigners who used to break hostel windows and breaked beer bottels in hostel and university expelled them. The good thing studying in china is, security. when i am back home i am afraid to go around after 9 but here i walk all alone at 3 in the morning.although i do lose some freedome here but i prefer to be safe and sound. The best thing is china is "If you can talk nicely and politely you can make a way out" Just don't be rude even with housekeepers. You won't lose anything!!!
  2. Rose seems you watch lot of CNN. you are talking about freedom..... whats freedom. already more than 400 people have died becoz of bombing. i don't want to loose my parents for so called "american" freedom.and there doesn't anything exists like freedom. whats the use of UN. why UN was made.Un was doing its job and saddam was helping them. they never had to complain about anything.Bush doesn't care about UN. Saddam may be brutal but what about the two bombs dropped in Japan during II WORLD WAR. what about Vietam war, was it Saddam? its americans destroying every part of the world and rose americans are 100% sure that IRAQ doesn't have any chemical weapon. otherwise they would have never send their army in iraq.their demand has changed from disarming iraq form regime change...have you every thought of why they changed it. and its my country who on a world bush is to choose my leader?god knows iraqi hate or love saddam. i have couple of iraqi frens they love him more than americans love bush.its western news agency say iraqis hate them. but has any iraqi personally said to you?? thousands of houses are being destroyed.hundred of thousands of people are living on roads.think form prospective of normal iraqis. saddam may be brutal (for USand UK) but iraq was one of the most well off country in middle east. rose...what ever you say this war is for oil and just for oil. some day another big country might attack smaller one...the same way US did.then..............
  3. hey guys we got to respect arkhanal jis concern for our country. i totally agree with you arkhanal. each year lots n lots of good brains got lost in west .... for what?? there is so many things that can be done. peoples who have gone abroad have seen different things and have knowledge on ways for solving small and big problems. hey santos and sanskar ji what so ever money we have spend while studying can be earned if we worked hard in our country. it might take quite a long time but you can earn even if you work back in nepal. and we people, ones away from nepal, saying that we are abroad not for money.....sounds quite funny. we are away from nepal for money and the physical happieness...this might sound rude but its the fact. and sanskar ji "Nepal ma bhayeko brain haru le ta nepali lai yo gati ma pugaaye sakyo. yadi sabai nepali brain nepal ma bhayeko bhaye jhan ke hunthyo hola. " i like your this sentence. so we all know that nepals gati is pretty bad... and you are stilll ready to let these people rule our country.for how long...another 50yrs ... if people of our generation don't make a move then nepals future is pretty bad. we still can do a lot of thing back home. we can easily earn enough money if our demand is not toooo high. we can make difference... we are the nepals tomorrow.
  4. santos lucky you,you have a opp. to praticipate in fair election.for me we don't have any election out here. i think you might have forgot the day we went for voting. there were more of vote sellers than voters. so many people just going to vote so that he/she had got into the college becoz of the guy in SU(student union). i think we all of us has been through this phase. In out country leaders of college union are future MP ,ministers and PM. so its their career. they will do whatever they can to win. and if nepali congress ,UML.... parties don't give them money ,political support.... who will help these big parties in nepal bandas and all those stuff.we normal students are ofcourse not going.santos as long as SU,in our country, has unlimited power no one can do anything. i had even heard that they beat the proff n locked them up in one of the famous college of kathmandu. the surprising thing is police can't make arrest within campus permises. to have clean, free and fair election we have to change the way nepali student politics works . and in nepals context i don't see it coming for long time.
  5. frens we all know that we got to choose good university for further studies.it may have been too late for some of us or some of us maybe trying to switch to good university.Or some of us maybe lucky enough to have choosen good universities. i have been through some of the country wise web site of wnso but i could find only little amount of infomation about the good n best university... i am not complaning about your work. you guys have done great job but what is needed for some one who wants to go abroad is infor about the counrties good university, job opp, accom. these are the main thing for any one who wants to go to another country.esp for us nepalese coz we can't afford the expensive hotels. and if someone happen not to find good palce to stay he might be spending lot of money which can be saved by our help. lets work to make our WNSO more informative on such feild, If any help is needed for anyone regarding beijing n china(china is a big country so i might not know lots of palces) i will be more than happy to share my personal experience and knowledge.
  6. guys i think what you are trying to say is 100% correct.n santos you say all of us want to stay abroad. yeah ofcourse i will also stay abroad if i get a good offer. but i have my family back home,my place of birth,my frens, something thats MINE.it might sound sentimental but i do miss nepal a lot.n i think its the same case with all of us. we got to go back dudes. if not tomm maybe after a year or after a decade. we all will land up back home. i think you all agree with me. n santos you talking me of starting a software company ...what % of nepalese have access to computer. i think we will be having a IT professional in every house in couple of year. i am not trying to discuss about we will go back or not what i want all of us to say which subject in nepals context is good.so that someone else who is looking our discussion can benifite. in my opnion we do lack professional tour (travel agency) managers. There is a subject Tourism mang. i think nepal does needs these people. we do have lots or travel agency but its not only the fault of politics that foreigners are not going to nepal. i hardly see any advertisment of nepal anywhere..neither on Tv nor on magazines. where as i can see lot of such ad. of Hong kong,austr,Indone.. there are so many such subjects that our frens in nepal don't know. where as we staying away have opportunity of seeing lots of such things... I hope we all can make difference in the future of nepal..
  7. when i was back in nepal 4 yrs ago i always thought that what i am going to study is really useful and it won't be hard to find a job in nepal. but after 4 yrs i find my situtation pretty bad. the thing is what to do when i am back in nepal. lots of my frens have graduated n they are just roaming round n getting frustrated day by day. its not their fault,is it? Back home we still have the concept that when we are graduate we will get good job. but it has changed drastically changed in these few years. its pretty hard to get a job (forget about a decent one). won't it be nice to talk about what we really need for nepal in coming future.at least when one of us is going for his higher studies, this discussion will be of some help. we all are in different part of world which gives a eagles view on almost every profession. talking about universities are important but what about the life after graduation?
  8. hey guys me too got the infro about WNSO from frens.infact from Emajor. i donno from where he got the news. its nice being out here. thanks Emajor .
  9. kamal ji i was trying to download some of the stuffs from your site but i just cann't do it. i don't know what may have caused the problem. it will be nice if you would be able to let me know its problem in my side or not. can any of you download stuffs from there? thanks
  10. yeah Emajor you are right saying that India is better than china for medical students. But the best place to study medicine is Nepal. although we might lack all the equipments India and china has but once these future doctors go back to nepal they have to work in that situation.so better learn the things in that place.India being in the same region of ours there is lot of diseases similiar to that of ours. which will really benefite. the real problem of India is ,its really expensive studying in india comparing to the universities in nepal and china. But in china also its not that cheap if you are choosing good universities in beijing and shanghai. the one in beijing charges 6500$tution fee excluding accomodation. and one in shanghai charges 4500$.but mind it, beijing university and fudan university(shanghai) are among the best china has to offer. if you choose these universities your class mates will be the toppers of different provineces of china.so you can always learn from your class mates.
  11. i think everyone of you have made a good point.i agree with you santosh that there is lot to be done and i agree with you dotcom and all of you that we all should work hard to make WNSO far better than what it is right now. yeah we do have members for different background so they are posting according to their level of intelligence. all of us out are not Phd student. so we got to appraise their work coz its another stone to sucess of WNSO. but i think that santos is also concerned about the future of WNSO coz if there is more of informative stuffs more and more people will join in, no matter of their background.if he gets something good from this site he will be back with more good stuffs thats the way we will have bright future of WNSO. if there isn't good information in this site less and less people will visit which ofcourse is just what we don't want.we want it to be as informative as it could be and a base so which unites nepalese throughout the world. all of you said its a learning process, yeah i agree with you, but we got to make sure that its going to be too late.
  12. welcome to wnso Dryamu nice to know that you are also studying in china.i agree with you that my information about universities in china may be incomplete but i think i made my message clear.when you graduate from any university and are applying for job or scholarship for further studies in good companies/universities they always look where did you garduated from (if you are in managerial post and you have right to choose any of harvard graduate or any public university graduate and provided that you think their level is same, if you are not bias, you will choose the one from harvard) its that simple.so when you are spending so much of money and your valuable time why not study in best universities the country has to offer.for medical beijing university (beijing medical university), shanghai medical university. are good and for engg. tqinghua university is best.these universities are world wide know for their excellent performance. its unlike in other countries , in china ,its not really tough to get to best universities. here its comparatively easy.if you are self student. this is the real world and we have to face it. even if my level is above par i would be overlooked infornt of another guy who has certificate from better university. we all know this but i want guys back home to know. i think, we all agree, that being graduate is not enough in this competitive world.
  13. yeah although china is different than any other country its really nice place to be, provided that your chinese if fine enough that you can communicate in chinese. if your chinese is bad you will be dumb here.the thing in china is you can't do any part time job. you have to be self (ie all money provided by parents including your pocket money ) or be scholarship student. so there is no tension of not getting job or going job for 20-30 hrs a week. you will be shocked by the divesity of foreigners studying ,working out here. you can meet students from more than 150 countries if you happen to study language in Beijing university of language.(every year they have students from more than 160 countries). if you don't want to mixup with chinese(which is ofcourse not a good idea) you can just hangaround with your frens from togo to sweden from Indonesia to Ireland. the good part is you are (almost) always invited to any party that happens within the university (there are lots of these going on). and when its exam time no one ever steps out his own room. so you got to study or go crazy with nothing to do.and during vacation there are lots of palce you can travel to. china is a big big country with lots of natural wonders. you don't even need to book a hotel if you happen to go to a city where there is a nepali student studying.n you don't have to know him. just bumb into him and say i am from..... and can i stay with you for .... days. 99% he will say 'great' and within .... days you will be great fren. relation among nepalis out here in china is really nice. and its the thing to be proud of .im't i right E-major and Nightmare.
  14. hey nice work santos. i totally agree with you that there are lots of such universities not only in Uk but all around the world. Some of our Nepalese frens back home are so desperate to get out of nepal that they don't even bother to check so many things. The concept is just that "its in Uk/US/...... then it should be good" whereas its not like that. they are just wasting their valuable time and money for almost nothing.i think we all, member of WNSO,should help to fill the gap that exist.
  15. hey it will be really nice to make china.wnso.org we all can work on it together to make it successful. there is lots of things that can be done between nepal and china. it will be nice working with suman dai once again.
