YOuth Volunteerism in Nepal

Recommended Posts

The word "Youth Volunteerism" become huge and complex term in the present scenario, in which I can't describe its importance in a single page but I try to explain its role and importance in the development of nation.

The features of societies and cultures are only given by term Volunteerism. It is a fundamental source of community strength, resilience, solidarity and social cohesion. Youth volunteerism can help effective inclusive societies the respect diversity, equality and the participation of all.

From few years there has been growing recognition of the power of Youth Volunteerism to build social capital, cohesion and contribute to human development

in Nepal. "We need to established the refined polices and to harness the contribution of volunteers that this is the most suitable method, which facilitates participation by encouraging and inspiring people especially in Youth to volunteer to built capacity in

Youth and organisations' that support development of nation" In this regard the degree student and graduate students to be involved in any volunteering work for at least two years this is a first step towards youth volunteerism.

Voluntary action is also essential in every field like health sector, environmental sector and many more. Here I talk about the voluntary action to solve environmental issues like as narrowing and depletion of Glaciers and mountains, deforestation, extinction of endangered species from our country, pollution especially water and sound etc. The government cannot solve these entire problems alone so that we all youth ready to solve for this challenges and to help communities mitigate and adopt to the effect of climate change.

So that the role of youth in the development of nation is increasing day by day.

Together we can!

At last I invite you to inform yourself and sign up with WNSO-Nepal if you are not already involve in volunteerism.

Keep up the good work.

Nearly a week before, Mr. Arjun asked me 'R u read my article? plz comment!' I replied 'still I've not read'. Just I read throughly ..........I have no words for comment but his article gives me pleasure and excite me to write something on this crusial issue...[/i]

Community improvement, socialization, humanity, prospective learning etc can be counted as the main benefits of volunteerism. In the context of developing countries, its value is superior and meaningful but concentration from the government and other concerned area are not sufficient. Similarly intangible benefit in volunteerism for social development is highly esteemed.

Despite it, volunteerism is seen a very hard and challenging task to motivate people. Due to the high influenced and negative impact in our culture of Tea-gossip and pessimistic thought along with 'fast and vast comment, many activists feel discouraged to render their volunteer services.

In spite of the political instability, community sector development by Mother/Sister group under the volunteerism can be a very exemplary activity from which we can learn many things. Development of the Community forest is another precise instance of capacity of volunteerism and its significance. The labour-abundant country like Nepal possesses the high degree of importance of volunteer-based activities to make them engaged in the productive activities in one hand, and to empower them with the skills and knowledge on the other.

Yes, it is welcome and significant steps by MoE/N which has just implemented volunteer service after Master degree aiming at making them realise the importance of their voluntary contribution in the process of social development.

Although volunteerism is a welcome step in the process of social development, it commences with the challenges and hindrance for running the movement by volunteer organisation/s. Similarly, most people are in confusion that what roles are played by volunteerism to change the attitudes and behaviours of people with the spirit of positivity. Adaptation and changes only occurs from knowledge and experience. Its really worried that majority of an educated people (so called scholars) have less willingness and enthusiasm than normal people. So like you people should be able to promote positive change and lead the nation as well. To know the real meaning of volunteerism, everybody must involve in volunteerism. Volunteerism is necessary to all stages of population (i.e Professional and non-professional, all aged). After analysing the significance of volunteerism, UN also has also developed the slogan like ‘Volunteer for development’.
