zen, If it is saying any error, can you give that error or error number to me? I am assuming you are using windows XP,and msn 6.2, right? If so is the case then try login into this site, http://www.passport....llrs=11&lc=2057 and sign in there and see, however if it is not possible,
click start > click run, Type: regsvr32 softpub.dll and press enter.
regsvr32 softpub.dll and press enter.
If MSN Messenger still does not work, try the following. In Internet Explorer go to the tools menu, click on internet options, then on the advanced tab. Go down to the security section, then make sure check for server certificate revocation is off. use SSL 2.0 and use SSL 3.0 should both be on. MSN Messenger requires SSL for the authentication process (validating your username / password).
IE > TOOLS > INTERNET OPTION > ADVANCE > SECURITY SSL 2.O SHOULD BE TICKED SSL 3.O SHOULD BE TICKED
If it does still not help This error code with solution might want to help you,
If it still does not help pass me the exact error+code ,what it says.

Error :- Sorry, we could not sign you in because the sign-in name you entered does not exist or your password is incorrect.
Try the following to help resolve the situation:
1. Delete your temporary internet files and cookies.
2. Sign-in to MSN Messenger again. If you receive the same error message again, you may need to reset your Microsoft® .NET Passport credentials.
3. If you continue to receive the error message, you may be experiencing network latency, or there may be a problem with the .NET Passport service. Try to sign in again later.
