How to install windows XP from network

Recommended Posts

Hi frens!

I wanted to know how to install windows xp from network. Is there any possibility to install it from one computer to another computer. I have xpcd image or xpcd content on one computer and want to install it to another computer which has no operating system.

How we can install windows XP more than one computer at once. It can be done easily in linux through ftp, http or nfs method.

thank you for your help!

Yes You can install XP over the network

You need to copy I386 directory from the XP CD on to one PC and share the directory.

You need to create network installation boot diskette (i.e. it should contain the NIC driver for your new PC)

There are some you can try

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Boot-M...Boot-Disk.shtml

http://www.appdeploy.com/comparisons/netwo...kutil/index.asp

Then boot from a diskette that includes a network client.

This will let your new PC to be on the network. Connect to the shared directory then run WINNT.EXE

Good luck
