24th over: Only one run is scored off Daniel Vettori's opening over.

23rd over: The first individual 50 for a Bangladeshi batsman as Ashraful grabs a four off Cairns.

22nd over: New batsman Akram Khan attempts to steady Bangladesh's batting as he notches up two runs off Adams.

21st over: Ashraful gets a thick edge off Oram which flies over the slips for four and helps bring up his career-best in ODIs.

20th over: Adams gets his first wicket as Kapali makes a foolish hook which sails straight down to Bond at long leg. Bangladesh: 71-4

19th over: Bangladesh are showing some promising signs as Kapali and Ashraful are forming a good partnership.

18th over: Ashraful, holding all of Bangladesh's hopes in his hands at the moment, drives to mid off and make a good run to score three.

16th over: Ashraful makes New Zealand for their mistake in the last over, smashing Adams through cover point for four.

15th over: Oram misses out on his third wicket afterAshraful, falling for the trap, hooks it skyward but is dropped by Chris Cairns at deep backward square leg.

14th over: New batsman Alok Kapali helps Ashraful to steady Bangladesh's batting as the pair snatch another couple of runs.

12th over: Ashraful pulls Adams into the deep for two.

11th over: Great start by Jacob Oram, who bowls Hossein with his first ball. Bangladesh: 37-2. Oram then makes it two in a row as new batsman Habibul Bashar is caught by McCullum. Bangladesh: 37-3

10th over: Andre Adams replaces Mills at the South End and holds Bangladesh to just one run this over.

9th over: Ashraful grabs the first six of the match, smashing Bond's short ball high over long leg, just clearing the fence.

8th over: New batsman Sanwar Hossain opens his account with an outside edge to third slip for two runs.

7th over: Bond takes New Zealand's first scalp, coaxing Sarker into a drive only to edge straight to wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum. Bangladesh: 19-1

6th over: Ashraful grabs two runs off Mills, driving straight back down the pitch past the bowler.

5th over: Another miserly over from Bond sees Bangladesh pick up just one run.

4th over: Sarkar grabs a single after chopping a bottom edge just past leg stump, down to fine leg.

3rd over: Another promising over from Bangladesh as Ashraful gets his first boundary.

2nd over: Kyle Mills makes his first appearance of the tournament but Hannan Sarkar greets him with two boundaries.

1st over: Shane Bond opens the bowling from the North End with a amiden over.

0730 GMT: Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first. New Zealand have made two changes to their line-up with Matthew Sinclair replacing the injured Nathan Astle and Lou Vincent dropped in favour of fast bowler Kyle Mills.
