Again you need qualification, confidence, ability, honesty, communication skills, cloths (remember some job need expensive cloths) and so forth.

How true...

welcome to the forum gopal,

Well,People need to look from the both side of the spectrum.Here's a scenario of a job interview.

------Apply & get asked for an interview.-----
We are looking for really god hackers, are you any good.

Yeah , sure , I'm leet.

Really, can you back that up. What have you hacked?

I've downloaded credit card data from city bank and defaced SCO website.

Excellent, you are under arrest... {which means honesty and attitude plays a great role}

Well first one need to deface of an old tradition. One can grow up in as 'leet' as small or laidback society. He has to know he still has and 'deserve' oppertinuty. Start from the small,everything is honourable.Just touching the ceiling with help doesn't mean much. But most importantly, No matter how laidback society you are from you need to have honesty and interest. You will get great job. Only time plays role where we need to patient.

dipeshmnm,
there is no point protesting like a little baby. try to discover ur talent, ur skills. What else can u do beside being a pizza boy? Dont underestimate yourself. Give it a thought. Utilize ur education, experience and so on.
I just dont understand why most of the nepali come here and end up working in a pizza place or other fast food joint, without even giving any thoughts. Just because rest of the nepali are working in a fast food joint, u dont have to do that. Find a different horizon.

I don't think those working in fast food never try to get better job. There must be some reason why they are working there. Last year, when I lost my job, I applied for more than 100 job in one month. I thought my experience, skill and qualification is enough to get job those job, but it didn't work. There are many unseen criteria which we don't meet. Such as, our accent, our color, passport/VISA play major role on decision making process for interviewer.

Oh my sweetehearts dont argue using this f word...common you all are grown up guys....listen to this missy...will ya ? rolleyes.gif

Anyways back to the topic...to haunt for a job is not just showing them your degree...but its selling yourself. It depends on you how you present yourself. You need to think that in this very point you are selling yourself to a company. And when you look for a job you also need to imagine for a moment and find out what criteria you would go for...being the boss yourself.

Any dont get nervous....feel confident. And when i mean confident i just mean in the things you know about.....never say you know something when you dont....but be honest and say you are ready to explore and learn all the things that may come across you. Never be late and also not too early...if you are too early it will show that you dont have anything else to do. So be in time....and REMEMBER always smile and keep a good eye contact.

The first impression is always the last...and your impression is built within 5 to 10 seconds...so these few seconds are the most important.

See the way you dress...it does not need to be expensive and also should not be over dressed. Try to find a middle. For guys its very easy. A black suit with a clean shirt and a nice tie should always work. And see your shoes are polished and also check your hands. I dont know if you know this or not but your hands are your visiting card.

And also the handshake is very important cause the three-second ritual of shaking hands can provide you with as much information about the other person as a psychological profile. While shaking hands always engage the other person's full hand and look right in the eye, with a smile and pump your hand two or three times.

And in case you are late...dont say sorry and look down...if the boss is not there yet just sit down and greet the rest you see.

And also remember the mimic part....never ever just keep talking mimic plays a great role....so show them that you are capable of doing everything and even if you dont know you are ready to try things out.

Before you go for a job try to find as juch information as you can about the company....and never ever talk anything bad about your ex job. Its same like if a guy has a gf and talks shite about her later with the other girls... we girls will know that he is going to do the same with us too so we stay away from such guys. Hope this example helps...goes for girls too. smile.gif

And when you send an application and they call you peopleeeee its a very good sign...so please be good prepared. You gotta convince them that you are the right one for the job. And if they reject.... i want you all call them and ask the reason...it really helps...for next time. Pick the phone and call and ask them to be honest and they will. I do this too and it really has helped me.

Let me give you an example;

Once i applied for a job at European Union in Brussel and according to me i think i was damn good but got rejected and i called them up and asked them the reason and they were honest with me and told me i sounded kinda dominating. I had to laugh and i also asked which line made them think so...and they also told me that and then i corrected them and they were like you are still our best candidate so to try sometime later again....but for this time sorry.

This is what i mean even a single word or the way you write can be damn important. But by this mistake i learned something and used this for my next job in Siemens and guess what i got it. I remember they called be so many times for an interview....and i was interviewed by 4 bosses and in three different places. Even i was soooooo nervous i didnt let that out. My second interview was with them in a restaurant and there they just wanted to see me how fast i can communicate with people and feel easy. Every job has its own style but in a way all are same. So remember this like you are sellling yourself...in the mean time you are a whore. I know this word dosent sound good but its the reality.

So in short....feel confident ...feel like you can rule the world....but dont be arrogant and please always be yourself.

I can keep on writing but sadly i cant all here....so as said i myself train people so if anyone of you have interview...get in touch with me and tell me where and when... I wil help you.
