At the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam (BIGR) there are vacancies for 2 PhD Students on Motion Registration and Analysis in Cellular and Molecular Bioimaging (fulltime)

The research will be carried out at the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam (BIGR). This recently started group is a joint initiative of the Depts. of Medical Informatics and Radiology of the Erasmus MC. Through innovative fundamental and applied research it aims to develop and validate advanced techniques for the processing and analysis of large, complex, and heterogeneous medical and biological image data sets. Both PhD positions advertised here are funded through a grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).

Required education/skills: MSc degree in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a comparable field of study. Good communication skills (writing and presenting in English) and experience with programming in an object-oriented language (such as C++ or Java) are required. In addition, candidates should have a strong affinity with biological applications.

Conditions of employment

Additional conditions of employment:
The appointment is for a fixed period of four years, at 38 hours per week. Payment is according to the standard payment of PhD students in the Netherlands, meaning EUR 1813,- per month (gross) in the first year increasing up to EUR 2394,- per month (gross) in the final year. You will be working within the Erasmus MC, but will be employed by the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).
