Foreign Students Allowed to Teach

Foreign students in South Korea will be allowed to work as part-time language instructors from next March, the Justice Ministry said on Friday.
As of late October, an estimated 6,900 foreigners are studying in local universities. So far, only those who entered South Korea on "E-12" visas were allowed to work as full-time language teachers, but the ministry decided to ease restrictions to allow student visa holders to be employed as teachers on a part-time basis.

Those aspiring to work as foreign language instructors must have bachelor's degree and can teach their mother tongues only. The ministry also eased several requirements for granting work permits to foreign students. Under current regulations, they must attend a local college for at least one year and receive a recommendation from the head of their college or university before being allowed to work part-time. But from next March, they will be eligible to apply after receiving six months of education and recommendations from their college advisors. The work permit will be valid for a year and can be renewed. Those students will be allowed to be employed in two workplaces, officials said.

In addition, the application fee will be slashed from the current 60,000 won to 30,000 won. "We hope the easing of restrictions will significantly increase the number of students working legally here," said Kang Hyong-bong, head of the residence control division at the ministry.

It's almost like a joke. In fact, this news and new entries should be in joke section. This represents our poor state of WNSO, and sudden fall of visitors.......Point that we have to note here is Bharat Thapa is saying something is good in reference to 2002 News. that is almost 4 years old news, now, we are appreciating our views. These types of News can be changed by a single Administrative order of any government. We lack latest development in the field and clapping here.............is not it a joke? I wish wNSo again regains its original status that i saw around 3-4 years agao.

Thank you for your valuable quotation and identification indeed. Well, when i read your opinion something just strike on me. well it goes through like this.

So simple as that, are you abroad? How long have you not been back home? Do you have any plans to reside in foreign country as a permanent resident? blah blah blah.. the point is will u stop remebering your families.. have you made you best friend that you ever made in your last school levels or bachelors.. dig in your mind and you will have answers....

Simple as that, chautari is a family no matter there are hibernations to all of us.. a statory hibernation for all academic fellows.. so it might be bit slow in the race but will not be that one will go against.. so time will come... we are not that we need the involvement of the members... as active as used to be.. we need to run this.. and this will come out with various seasons.. no matter the dry season that we are coding for this chatari, will have green too.. so i wish ur comitted word will again regain its identity... as no matter how far we are from friends and family we still miss them and will wish them forever..

As that, when we dont' have any idea where we have a base to put our queries, then if you had been ever envolved actively in this platform i swear you will try to find peace out of ur puzzel, so its just matter of time, where and in wat situation u are..

Additnoally my point does goes for userfriendly interface.. as i ahve mentioned in some other postings too.. that the platform is not that userfriendly to me.. i don't know if others are also having same consiousness.. it used to give the new postings and comments at the front page and we could see at glance.. but now its not that..

may be i m confused.. or has it been alike to all of u.. if it is then we need really strong metamorphism for this stagnant graded platform.. this is my point of view,, we can share our views.. plz feel free to dedicate opinions...

thank you..

Cheers,
b-mal

As fas as userfriendlyness comes, I am quite comfortable with what I have got. What I do is I open Wnso Homepage. Click on Talking Point, that takes me to new windo of talking point. I click in Log in-enter user ID and Password.
After that at the top, just above the posts, on ur righthand side, there is a link called "view New Post". I right click on that open it in a new windo. So, I track all recent updates. It is quite comfortable me doing all these.

In the meantime,I click on Nepali Students Chautari Forum Link on the window which had opened talking forum to me. It lists all subsections and in the bottom again there is another link called View active Topics. That makes everything easy to me.

So, I have no complian about its looks and friendliness.
But, if we feel the need of change, Admin may take initiave in it.
