Tendulkar falls in first over
Johannesburg, March 23

Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed by Glenn McGrath with his fifth ball of the World Cup final on Sunday as India, chasing Australia's awesome 359 for two, made the most wretched start possible.

Tendulkar hit one boundary in the first over but then looked to pull and skied the ball right up into the air, a delighted McGrath taking the catch himself to make it four for one after the first over.

After six overs, India had reached 37 for one.

Skipper Sourav Ganguly was unbeaten on 17 with opener Virender Sehwag 12 not out.

India collapse after Tendulkar flops
Johannesburg, March 23

India, chasing Australia's awesome 359 for two in the World Cup final, slumped to 59 for three in the 11th over after Glenn McGrath had dismissed Sachin Tendulkar with his fifth ball.

Tendulkar, the world's leading batsman and his side's main hope of pulling off a miracle win, hit one boundary before top-edging a pull into the air, a delighted McGrath taking the catch himself to make it four for one.

Sourav Ganguly, resorting to slogs rather than the textbook, followed soon after before Mohammad Kaif fell for a duck.
