The first Birendra Memorial Inter-Municipality Football Tournament, under the joint auspices of All Nepal Football Association and Kathmandu Metropolis, is beginning from Sunday with Biratnagar playing against Butwal at Dasharath Stadium.

In all, 14 teams ?qualified from the regional-level tournaments held in Hetaunda, Pokhara, Ilam and Nepalgunj ?are taking part in the Rs 1 million tournament. Apart from the highest amount of first prize, the organisers also held tie-sheet draw for the tournament for the first time in football history in the country. The participating teams are divided into two pools of seven each. Tikapur, Biratnagar, Butwal, Pokhara, Itahari, Lalitpur and Dharan are drawn in Pool A. Mechi Nagar, Ratna Nagar, Kathmandu, Madhyapur Thimi, Nepalgunj, Janakpur and Waling are in Pool B. Tikapur and Mechi Nagar directly entered the quarter-finals with a bye in first round. The winner of the tournament will be richer by Rs 5,00,000 while the runner-up will get Rs 2,00,000 and the third and the fourth-place holders will receive Rs 1,25,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively. The best player and the highest scorer of the tournament will be awarded of Rs 50,000 each. The organisers have formed a five-member committee under the convenorship of ANFA treasurer Birat Jung Shahi to select the best player of the tournament. Other members of the committee include Bhim Thapa, Dhurba KC, Raju Shakya and Ashok KC.

On Friday, Kathmandu Metropolis and ANFA signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the tournament. As per the agreement, the metropolis will give Rs 1 million a year to ANFA.

My home team is playing today.Unfortunately ,I am not in the stadium to cheer for my team.National players like Basanta Thapa and Madhu karki are leading the team and I hope all the best things for this team.

It's going on.
In the opening game biratnagar defet the bhirawa by 1-0. Devnarayan scored the golden goal in the second minutes. Biratnagar include the most of the MPC. While Bhairawa included Basant Thapa and Madhu Karki. In the regular time Madhu Karki missed the one to one with kipper which lead them to defet with Biratnagar. The game was little bit unlucky for the Bhairawa.

In the second day of the tournament, Pokhara beat the Itahari by 1-0. Pokhara is the one of the strong team though they did not scored much goal cause Ritesh Thapa save most of the attacks though Ritesh made some mistake in the game. But Pokhara's Bishen Gauchan scored only one goal at 63 rd minutes of the game.

In the third day Dharan beat Lalitpur by 2-0. Raju Katwal of Dharan scored both of the goal. Refree shows three red cards in the game. Two of which due to the misbeheave and one is by showing two yellow cards. The one player of Dharan and two player of Lalitpur gets those cards.

In the fourth day of the game Tikapur, the winner of the farwestern and western region is beatn by Biratnagar by 8-1. The first half of the game was darew in the score of 1-1 goals. Biratnagar's Ananta Thapa scored first goal in the 36 th minutes. Tikapur's Dhurba Karki scored a goal in the 44 th minutes to take game draw in the first half. But in the second half biratnagar scored 7 goals to registered the win and also registered their place in the semifinal. In the second half Ananta Thapa scored 4 goas in the 54, 60, 66 and 82 nd minutes of the sscond half and Sunil Magar scored two goals in the 68 and 79 th minutes. And Parbat Pandey scored one goal in the 69 th minutes.Tikapur didn't able to play as in first half. Biratnagar missd several chances to goal otherwise the final score of the gamewillcross the limit. This is the bad news for the farwestern football. Till today Ananta Thapa is the leading scorrer of the tournament with 5 goals.

In the fifth day of the tournament Pokhara beat the Dharan by 1-0 in the last quarter final of the pool A. In the game the only goal is scpred by the Pokharas midfielder chandra Gurung. Pokhara plays Against Biratnagar in the semifinal.

On the sixth day of the yournament most of the national players including Kathmandu washed away Ratna Nagar By 6-0 to reach in the quarter final. In this game Tasi chieing saored two goals in the earlier minutes of first half. The game is the 2-0 in first half. In the second half Hari Khadka Scored his hatrick in the second half to reach his team 5-0. Again Tasi Chiring scorea lasr goal of the game also complete his hatrick.

The tournament is going. On the seventh day, in the first semi final, Biratnagar beat pokhara by 1-0 to reach in the final. The game was fully dominent by Pokhara. But they fail to score the goal. The only goal of the game was scored by Dev Narayan Chaudhari in the earlier minutes of the first half. Refree gives red card to Biratnagar's Deepak Poudel in the Later minutes of the first half as he misbeheaves with refree after getting first yello card.
